LA COMISIÓN EUROPEA,

Visto el Tratado de Funcionamiento de la Unión Europea,

Visto el Reglamento (CE) n.o 2368/2002 del Consejo, de 20 de diciembre de 2002, por el que se aplica el sistema de certificación del proceso de Kimberley para el comercio internacional de diamantes en bruto (1), y en particular su artículo 20,

Considerando que:

(1) En el anexo II del Reglamento (CE) n.o 2368/2002 figura la lista de los participantes en el sistema de certificación del proceso de Kimberley y de sus autoridades competentes debidamente designadas.

(2) Las direcciones de las autoridades competentes de varios participantes en el proceso de Kimberley requieren una actualización.

(3) En septiembre de 2019, los participantes en el Proceso de Kimberley recibieron de la República Popular China la notificación de que la Región Administrativa Especial de Macao de la República Popular China aplicará formalmente el sistema de certificación del Proceso de Kimberley a partir del 1 de octubre de 2019.

(4) Procede, por tanto, modificar el anexo II del Reglamento (CE) n.o 2368/2002 en consecuencia. Para que la Región Administrativa Especial de Macao de la República Popular China aplique cuanto antes el sistema de certificación del Proceso de Kimberley en relación con la Unión, el presente Reglamento debe entrar en vigor con carácter de urgencia al día siguiente de su publicación en el Diario Oficial de la Unión Europea.

HA ADOPTADO EL PRESENTE REGLAMENTO:

Artículo 1

El anexo II del Reglamento (CE) n.o 2368/2002 se sustituye por el texto que figura en el anexo del presente Reglamento.

Artículo 2

El presente Reglamento entrará en vigor al día siguiente de su publicación en el Diario Oficial de la Unión Europea.

El presente Reglamento será obligatorio en todos sus elementos y directamente aplicable en cada Estado miembro.
